Leela Meets Leela: A Science Fiction Novel based on Time Travel

This is a story from the Hindu Epic Yoga Vashistha that centers around time travel and the concept of multiverses. The story follows King Padma and his devoted wife Leela, who sought to find a way to make her husband immortal. After consulting with learned Brahmins, Leela decides to perform severe austerities to please the Goddess Saraswati, hoping to gain the power to keep her husband's soul with her even after his death.

The Goddess Saraswati is pleased by Leela's austerities and grants her two boons: that her husband's soul will remain with her after his death and that the Goddess will appear to her whenever she prays. Years later, when her husband dies, Leela places his body on a bed of flowers and asks the Goddess where he is and what his current state is. The Goddess teaches Leela about the existence of different planes of reality and how to visit them, allowing her to see her husband in an assembly of kings.
