Finally, A Book On A Bane of Human Communication...

...and it helps to repair such a absence of proficiency in this skill starting with the very young. Jalongo, an early childhood expert well-known for innovative scholarship, delivers this much needed book that shows early childhood teachers how to teach to young children perhaps the most(?) important communication skill every to exist: listening. Every single chapter is worth two or three readings because each of them offers a different component to (1) understanding how listening differs among children and cultures; (2) showing teachers that listening is a complext process; and (3) realizing that listening involves teachers, children, and the families of the children. I do not want to say much more, because this book speaks well for itself. Please check it out...and it's very affordable.
