Simply Relational

This tool is remarkably simple and that is why it works. It is a well written, to-the-point book that is an answer to the problems with many discipleship "programs" that I have seen on the market. Myself and a team are planting a church in the fall of this year and the timing of finding this book could not be more perfect. I am starting to take some of my leaders through the eight weeks now who will then make a commitment to take others through it, who will then make the same commitment. It is not discipleship in and of itself. No one receives a certificate when they are done; discipleship to Jesus is way of life. But this starts the journey on biblically stable ground. We have actually built this tool and the idea behind it, into our church launch plan. Definitely recommend it for churches or mentoring-type relationships.

Practical, down-to-earth, easy-to-read, rich in content, and one of the best overall discipleship books I've seen. So many times I've been terribly disappointed with "discipleship" books. In fact, though I am passionate about sharing my life with Jesus with others, I have almost abandoned the typical book geared for sharing with new believers. However, this book, has exactly the type of resource that is needed for ALL followers of Jesus. It's easy to understand for the very newest Christian and yet is deep and broad enough to offer something rich for every individual who wants to follow Jesus Christ. The other must-see feature is the "Spiritual Coaching" section. You don't have to know how to disciple someone. Just know Jesus yourself, follow the simple guide, and be willing to share some time together with a friend. It's easy to use in a one-on-one discipling relationship or with a small group of friends. This is one book that you'll want to share again and again.
