Game changer for Homeschool!

Wow! Tears for years is my homeschool... until I found the AGS series books. They are slightly outdated by copyright, however the material is timeless. This book got my 12 year old to thrive in math. She started to love math. No more tears, arguing or dread. I had to stop her from going ahead because she loved it so much. I chose this year to take math and apply it to life. And this child did. From what she learned from this book, she presented a xmas budget, followed it and developed a way to earn more income when she fell short. She started a job and came in under budget all on her own. Mind you, this was my big spender before the book. Easy to instruct, easy to work in, no answer key but if you cannot do this math yourself, then I advise buying additional copies and try the book out! It uses basic math functions (+×÷-), percentages, and of course in the money format. My child has learning disorders, auditory processing disorder, and memory loss issues. She thrived! I am not sure of her overall grade yet but I would estimate an A-B range. And she feels great! This books series is phenomenal for a child to learn AND function on their own using the information we taught them. Really creates a strong sense of maturity and responsibility in a child. My advise is to make numerous copies of the blank budget form and get large sized graph paper for your math equations. I found we needed to flip a lot from page to page to complete an assignment, so extra copies is helpful. And with the math being so precise, the graph paper helped her realize the importance of keeping order. We changed to a calculator for the last two sections so to teach how to calculate electronically. This too was a huge lesson.
