The next step

Leaping Upon The Mountains takes survivors to the next step in recovery, picking up where Victims No Longer left off. One of the best way survivors can learn is by hearing the stories of others, and their strategies for recovery. Leaping Upon The Mountains offers an incredible wealth of information and lessons for survivors to take into their daily lives.

Excellent follow-up to his book Victims No Longer

As a counsilor for survivors of exual abuse, I found Leaping Upon The Mountains a great follow-up to Lew's ground breaking book Victims No Longer. The clients who read it found the statements by other survivors most helpful in their own recovery.

A Wonderful Guide to Resolution

As a survivor and psychotherapist who works with male survivors, I am both thrilled and grateful to Mike for providing us with such a wonderful resource. Leaping Upon the Mountains fills an important gap in that it is the first work I have seen that provides hope to survivors that a higher quality of life is possible. It also offers a general pathway for how to attain it. Mike rightly points out that it is not enough to describe the painful difficulties experienced by survivors; it is also essential to focus on how we deal with the pain. I am proud to be a contributor to Leaping Upon the Mountains and routinely refer my patients to this work. I highly recommend it to all male survivors and supporters.

Very Supportive Compilation of Survivors' Healing Strategies

Once again, Michael Lew has provided male sexual abuse victims a very valuable and supportive book. Unlike his first book, Victims No Longer, which became a classic in describing the trauma and healing from male childhood sexual abuse in adulthood, this book provides results of questions posed by the author to abuse survivors. The author simply asks survivors how they managed their difficult road(s) to recovery - what worked and why. Divided into 3 sections dealing with early, middle and late recovery, the survivors provide a creative and empowering list of strategies. The author, in his thoughtful, caring style, comments on and supports these strategies. The end of the book is terrific!: survivors offer words of wisdom and encouragement for those embarking on this difficult and painful journey. If you need a biblio-support group at your finger-tips, these men will not let you down! I personally believe the author's work has saved many lives and this book will save many more. Read it and recover!

Seeing Abuse From Another Point

Leaping Upon the Mountians, gave me many ways to look at how men who were abused as children see things. Being in a relationship with a survivor, is hard. Trying to see see things from their perspective is not always easy. This book helps me see how to look at it.
