Goal-Oriented, Practical, and Important

This is an excellent book; it's too bad it's out of print. The three authors speak not just from crudentials, but as parents who have been there and done it. The philosophy of the book is based on the Bible, but interestingly tied to our Declaration of Independence. But the best part is, it's practicality. They thought deeply about what it takes to lead a happy, productive life how to intill such things into their kids by the time they were 18. Then they set goals for such things in the areas of spiritual, physical, social, intellectual, emotional, and financial development. They got the kids to buy in, and off they went. Not just the ideas are practical, but the book is structured to be practical to use. There are discussion questions at the end of each chapter and a worksheet for each chapter in the back of the book. The worksheets are intended to help measure the results. If you are serious about raising functional kids, don't miss this book.
