If you read any book on leadership values, read this one. Oh sure, read John Maxwell, John Kotter, Warren Bennis and all the rest...but READ THIS BOOK!In his introduction to this, well, divinely inspired book David Cottrell quotes Jesus' question for the Apostle Peter, "Who do you say that I am?" Like anyone who studies leadership and helps others to untap their leadership potential, David recognizes that one must effectively lead oneself before leading others. Personal leadership begins by understanding yourself, specifically, "Where am I now?" must lead to "Where I am going?" If the answer to either is anything less than authentic, others will seldom follow your lead.Having spoken to David about his inspiration for this book, I encourage you ask yourself, "Who do [people] say that I am?" or to the point, "Who do I say that I am?" Is it time for you to "come out of the closet" or the jacuzzi about the core of your beliefs in order to take your leadership to the next level? This book is for anyone, but especially for those who are open to the eternal truths of scripture. David tells me he is often asked to bring these principles into the corporate environment for his clients -- minus the Biblical references. What a shame! So many people will miss the very source of what lead David Cottrell to write such a wonderful, important book on leadership.

Cottrell hits the nail squarely on the head using scriptural references to back every part of the message. The very first paragraph talks about "jacuzzi Christians" and our need to place our "ladders" firmly along side Christ as leaders in our businesses and homes. I heartily recommend this book to everyone. Read it slowly to digest every chapter. If we all applied these principles every workplace and home would be "heaven on earth."

David Cottrell has put it all together; solid leadership principles along with scripture references. For those already in leadership positions, as well as those who are striving for a leadership role, this book is terrific. I recommend that you read it straight through the first time and enjoy the stories and principles. Read it the second time with hi-lighter in hand and begin applying the book's content.
