As someone who can't stand to waste time on meaningless conference calls, seminars, and the like, I appreciate this no nonsense, to-the-point, and ultimately very useful book. A smart explanation of a common sense approach to leadership.

I just got done reading this book and I think it is an outstanding piece of work that will serve top managers, line managers, and managers-to-be equally well. Thompson's central theme is that leadership is best understood as a simple concept in the midst of complicated business times. It has many factual examples of how corporate trends and fads have only served to make more complex the very simple notions of leadership as exhibited by the world's great leaders. I've already purchased several books for colleagues. Pick it up, I think you will enjoy the work and find yourself using it in your business relations.
Fantastic leadership book

Leadership Isn't Rocket Science takes a funny and surprisingly simple approach to leadership. The book is a series of short chapters highlighting real-life individuals who use "simple strategies" in their leadership approach. In many of the chapters, these leaders are also contrasted against those who have overcomplicated leadership by use of terrible business jargon, flaming egos, etc. - many of the pitfalls we hear on the news in today's failing companies. Grant Thompson gets "back to the basics" providing relevant, and realistic tips on how to become a great leader and improve the way we communicate. I usually can't stomach business books but this one was really pretty good, and better yet, helpful.
