I ordered 2 books one was a hard cover. I was not sent the correct item. This book was $90.00 contacted customer serv I was told no refund even though it was not my fault. Then I was told I would receive a return label in my email and of course I never received anything. I will never order from here again. Horrible response horrible customer service.

TRUTH IS STRANGER THAN FICTION, WOW

What in the world was Layne doing those last six years? What was he thinking? Why did the band members keep telling us he was just taking a little break for a while? I'm furious!!! This book explains it all very well. I sure do feel sorry for him though. This book really showed me who Layne really was deep down. I always wondered why he had such strange, memorable music and now I know. The truth is hard to swallow but this book really makes sense. Wow, Layne spoke just before he died. That makes for a very interesting ending...when you know it's coming and you can hardly wait to get to that chapter to find out the ugly truth. I give this author an "A+" for effort and an "A" for her content and writing style. Definitely a book worth reading and a great explanation of who Layne Staley was as an artist and a human being. I still can't believe he's gone. But at least I know he's out of his personal pain. We'll all miss his music...

Deeply Touched by Layne's Heart

I really wanted to know who Layne was and this book gave me the info I needed to work it out. The Author treats Layne respectfully...as any other reporter did before. Good research, pretty inside. I was deeply touched by Layne's heart.

Strange, Bizarre Life, But a helluva great story

So that's what life was really like behind the giant walls for Layne STaley, cool. I had no idea that he wasn't this superfreaky, extravagant rock star who just did drugs all the time to get high. Wow, to him they were like insulin to a diabetic. I found out how normal he started out...and then what caused his life to get so extraordinarily weird and successful. This book is definitely loaded with true stories, right from Layne's own words and those of his two closest family members. The drawings and photographs really gave me an idea of who was on the inside too. I just wish he didn't have to suffer so much and die so young. We'll miss you Layne but at least now we know what you were really all about. I gotta give a couple thumbs up to the effort this reporter gave to fly back and forth from ARgentina to Seattle to get this story for all of us to enjoy. Too bad about Alice n Chains but at least now we know why.

I JUST HAD TO KNOW WHAT REALLY WENT ON WITH LAYNE

Layne has always been one of my favorite musicians. It seemed extraordinary to me to find out after he died that he had actually spoken with a writer during the last year and told her what really went on with him. This book puts his isolation and addiction into perspective for me after not knowing the truth for all those years. The author quotes layne and his mother and sister throughout the book, so to me this book seems quite inside and authentic. I will never listen to Alice In Chains music the same way. I found out layne wasn't just another rock star.

GO FOR IT...!!!

I've read the whole book...and I must say the Author treats Layne and his family respectfully in all the chapters. We all know the media has treated him like a piece of nothing for years, and after reading this book I must confess it's the very first time a journalist wrote something cool on Layne Staley, although she wrote an extensive part on the Renaissance Era...I hate History...but I admit she did good research to show a different Layne. Go for it!!!
