The story, as sung by whales and dolphins, is finally understood by a deaf scientist named Sharing, the first human ever to understand the song of the sea creatures.
I stumbled upon this book by accident, weeks before it was deleted and removed from the public library, and I was ever glad I did. Once I read the book, I couldn't stop. I searched up the other two books online in a snap and ordered them, as well as my own copy of the book, despite the high shipping costs. The intertwining storyline between the three books is amazing and the pictures are beautiful. Laughter Ring made for a wonderful story that I recommend to anyone who loves whales, dolphins and a fantastic story.
Truly a Song of the Sea!

It is obvious from the Horn Book review that he or she never bothered to read the book, opting to look at the pictures and read the captions. For the most part Horn Book reviewers were known for their nastiness, exampled in their review of Laughter Ring. To the contrary, I found this book exhilerating, supporting my belief that dolphins do have conscious thought. The story weaves itself well, recapping the 1st book in the trilogy and moving the story forward from the perspective of the dolphins themselves with a delightful sense of mystery and adventure. Despite the insipid Horn Book review, Laughter Ring is a book well-worth reading!
