Good or Bad???

Today my friend borrowed this book from his friend and asked me some questions in there like The Stranger which was real funny. I had no idea what the answer was and he told me and I started to crack up. I gave it a 5 because it gives me some good laughs. Get it if you like Solving Mysteries.

Mostly good

Not just a book of lateral thinking puzzles, some of these are more logical, which adds freshness and variety, since the 'find a rational explanation for a seemingly impossible situation' type-puzzles can get a bit repetitive after a while. There are some very clever puzzles in here, which frustrated me until I read the answer. There are also some fairly easy ones here too, mixed in with the others. Unfortunately, there are also quite a few bad puzzles. By bad, I mean that either there is more then one solution that works (a good lateral thinking puzzle should have one obviously best answer), or the answers are so convoluted that no one but the author could ever possibly guess them. These answers required the addition of a lot of new information, neither stated nor hinted at in the puzzle. Like Sloane's lateral thinking puzzle books, this is a good book for reading in groups, with one person knowing the answer, and leading the others along.

worthwhile and fun

This is one of my faviorite puzzle books. Many puzzles are original. Not awfully hard to solve. I went through it and it's a lot of fun.

A fine collection of "Lateral Logic" puzzles.

This is a valuable addition to the ever popular "lateral logic" puzzle genre. The puzzles are original and more elaborate than is typically encountered in such books (e.g. lateral logic books by Paul Sloane and Des MacHale). By the way, check out all of Erwin Brecher's puzzle books, you won't be disappointed.
