This book is for those who already know how to use the stones in practice. The writer intends for you to learn more about the theory behind the stones and caring for your stones. I found it very interesting.

LaStone the Best Stone Therapy in the World

This Book is a great introduction to Stone Therapy. Being a Massage Therapist I knew by reading just the first chapter of this book I needed to learn this Therapy. I signed up to take a Basic Stone Course from Mary Nelson the founder, I just got back from Tucson Arizona I was not disapointed the Training is Top Notch. Once you have had a LaStone Treatment you will not settle for anything Less. This book is a Must read for anyone interested in learning or receiving the best Stone Therapy on planet earth. This is a great book on the LaStone technique of hot and cold stone massage. History, directions, insights, etc. It's an invaluable reference, even if you never take the LaStone training. WONDERFUL book!

Fantastic book

I think the book is great and I absolutely disagree with the other review. The use of hot (and cold, which is the basis of Lastone Therapy) stones during massage or any kind of therapy is something not to be taken lightly and one cannot just learn the techniques from a book. This book really explains the origins of the stones, the treatment and how to take care of them. LaStone is an incredible therapy for everyone!! A great book, very well written by Jane Scrivner.
