Modesty has taken a holiday with John Dall and an old guide friend when they are ambushed. They discover the hint of an organised South American kidnapping ring, snatching the wealthy to use as slaves. Dall and Blaise are not slow on the uptake, so when she and Willie take a look, they find out this not very nice Mayan organisation may even be holding an old friend, long thought dead. Also involved, Lucifer and his death predictions, and Dinah and Steve Collier. 3.5 out of 5
One of O'Donnell's better efforts.

Modesty Blaise was a cult figure 30 years ago and her exploits hold up well today in her genre. As escapist literature, the books rank well above average and are refreshing in that the larger-than-life protagonists are a man and woman team with the woman as the definite leader of the two. Last Day in Limbo is a typical outing for the Blaise/Garvin team with crisp action, villainous villains and a thoroughly enjoyable read.
The only Modesty I like

Another fantastic adventure. The twist here is that she is on the inside (kidnapped) trying to get out of an impossible trap rather than trying to infiltrate one. Probably her most memorable adventure and the one she would like most to forget (considering what she had to go through).
