A unique book

Last Chance was timely when it was written during the boom days of Silicon Valley and it's even timelier now after the dot.com bust. The fast paced life of a wealthy CEO comes to a crashing halt in this thrilling, yet sensitive mystery. Spector shows us the world of entrepreneurs and venture capitalists and, at the same time, that other world -- the world of the homeless. How the two come together is what makes this book interesting and satisfying to read. I highly recommend Last Chance for anyone who has ever passed a homeless person on the street.

Uplifting and entertaining

It took just the right combination of personal experience, a good social conscience, and a compelling way with words to create the unpredictable and uplifting story Ira Spector has told in Last Chance. I read it in 1999. I'm ready to read it again. Great work!
