Las Puertas Templarias is a page turner, no matter what your religious beliefs may be.

In Jerusalem, year 1125 AD, the Count Hugo of Champagne joins the crusade for a special mission. He has discovered the "Arc of the Covenant" inside Salomon's Temple and a "key" that serves to open a stairway to Heaven. France, present day, after a newly installed European satellite tried to map present day France, certain areas don't register on the image formed by the satellite. Investigating why, Michel Témoin, the lead engineer, discovers that all the blackout spots belong to present day cathedrals, all built between the XIIth and XIIIth centuries and forming a mirror image of the Virgo constellation. Javier Sierra, in Las Puertas Templarias, creates a wonderful mystery thriller; in which he guides the reader to find the "Gateways to Heaven" or perhaps the "exits of Hell" which were sealed by modern cathedrals. The "seal" being Jesus: "No one will enter the Kingdom of Heaven unless he enters through Me." (page 240) The books deals with Templar legends and the symbiotic relationships of the Egyptian scientific and religious culture: "It's possible that Moses "stole" an important religious and scientific secret from the Egyptians, perhaps the mythical 'Hermes' books which Moses later would seal inside the Arc of the Covenant, as if they were part of the Jewish dogma." (p. 246)--as they relate to Christianity. And the book presents stars as entryway to heaven; and architects of the major cities: "God created the world so that it could be a reflection of the skies, and its churches an image of its stars." (P. 173) Finally the book deals with the fight between the forces of good and evil: "Angels, my lord. Fallen angels. Even though you may not beleive in them, you have meddled in the eternal struggle of Heaven and Hell ." (p. 261) Las Puertas Templarias is a page turner, no matter what your religious beliefs may be.
