Paired with the classic by John Bunyan, Pilgrim's Progress

The Pilgrim’s Progress, by John Bunyan, provides a rich resource that Language Lessons for a Living Education 9 is paired with to encourage your student’s faith, literary, and writing skills. The familiar 5-day weekly schedule that the Language Lessons for a Living Education is known for continues in level 9. John Bunyan’s other writings are used to inspire the student’s writing. Students continue to read through the Word of God and write summaries of what they’ve read. Vocabulary words are taken from The Pilgrim’s Progress and visuals from the story are used for Picture Studies. Two of my favorite aspects of LLFALE in the middle and high school levels are the sections on teaching students good communication skills and growing their biblical worldview. Be sure to check out the resource pages at the end of the book that include grading rubrics for the various writing assignments, grammar study sheets, and helpful writing templates. I didn’t see these until late in the year when my daughter completed level 8 and once we discovered them, they helped so much. The Pilgrim’s Progress Journey Journal provides a beautiful keepsake that notes can be taken in throughout the year as it contains The Pilgrim’s Progress copy that the students will read and study throughout the year.
