Pocket Dictionary

The pocket dictionary arrived in just a few days. It arrived in near-new condition.

A wonderful pocket dictionary to have on hand for a quick check on a word

I am a fan of the Langenscheidt pocket dictionaries. They are amazingly informative for such a small format. The symbols, definitions, pronunciation, and forms of the words are just enough to help you understand the meaning of the word you are looking up while still keeping the book in a size you really can put in a pocket. The Spanish-English in the front and the English-Spanish is in the back. There is also material in the front and the back of the book that provide helps for the non-native speaker of either language. In other words, English speakers get some help in conjugating Spanish, Spanish speakers get helps on spelling English words. There is extra material on how to spell certain English words and irregular verbs. These are just a few of the helps. The vinyl covers are great and very durable and the binding stands up to years of use. I can't praise this series of dictionaries enough. reviewed by Craig Matteson, Ann Arbor, MI

Best pocket dictionary there is!

If you need a pocket dictionary, and I mean pocket dictionary, this is the one to buy. I tested many by looking for an uncommon word, which unfortunately I can't remember now, and no other pocket dictionary had it. (Even some of the "big/non-pocket dictionaries" didn't have it.) It has many of the usual perks, like the ordinal numbers, regular numbers, etc., but also a large array of conjugated verbs thay comes in handy. Many so-called "pocket dictionaries" are really to big. This one is a little larger than some of the vey small pocket dictionaries, but worth its slightly larger size because of its large selection of words. You'll be able to find practically any word you'll ever need. I often use it in place of my huge bookshelf Spanish/English Oxford dictionary. (I recommend the Oxford dictionary for a bookcase version too. It has a huge selection of words and while one reviewer didn't like the fact that the words are blue with the defintions black, I think it makes it easier to find the wotds and so did my 4 companions.) If you're into Spanish in a big way, Barons Spanish verbs, which has 300 fully conjugated verbs is the perfect companion this pocket dictionary.

durable and useful for students

This is the best Spanish dictionary I have found. It is small yet comprehensive. Perfect for both high school and university level students as far as content and it can handle years of being thrown into the bottom of my book bag.

Uses real, modern day english-spanish words and translations as well as having pronuciation guides in enlish and spanish, and in the back has reference material on verbs and many other useful tools. BY FAR THE BEST ENGLISH-SPANISH (and vice versa) available.
