Awesome first book

This book is one of those you won't put down until you are done reading it. It is very well written(not long and wordy like many authors first trys)It's fun, enjoyable reading and has enough twists and turns to keep the reader at the edge of their seat.Anyone who likes any type of nautical theme will thoroughly enjoy this. The murder mystery has an exciting ending. I highly recommend this book.

Perfect book!

If you like mysteries, you will love this book. My wife is more the mystery-lover (and solver) in our house, but I read the book in two evenings and may be a new mystery fan! At the very least, I have a favorite new author and am anxiously awaiting his next book. Good job, Mr. Bednar!!!

Nonstop Excitement!

This book was a lot of fun! I do not live in Erie, but I have visited the area several times and the book's descriptions of the place definitely rang true. Besides great descriptions of the area, the book started off with a bang and never let up. The characters were so well thought out I find myself thinking about them as if they are real people. Landlocked Sailors made me interested in not only visiting Erie again, but also in future books by the author.

Loved It

Being from Erie, I was intrigued by a book set in my hometown. I thought, I might as well give this a try. I am not a sleuth book reader, but this book may have changed my favorite genre from science fiction to mystery. This book offers fantastic imagery of Erie, a dynamic story line, and a wonderful cast of characters. I especially liked Jack, the outspoken and often outrageous charter boat captain who starts out the story. I finished the book in one day, not being able to put it down. I recommend this book to mystery lovers and all others.

A note from the author

Landlocked Sailors is a fast-paced multiple point of view suspense novel centered around a Great Lakes maritime festival and an old score involving the US Navy. Set in Erie, Pennsylvania, the novel uses many landmarks and locations of the area as backdrops to the action. An underlying sense of comedy is present in the novel, as well as a few `jabs' at mystery novels and their readers.
