Lady Lady Lady!

This book was heart felt, enjoyed it. I loved it!.

Mark Anthony Drops It Like It's Hottt!!!!!!!

This novel was a page turner. It starts out with Lady AKA Tina trying to tell her mother that her boyfriend Junie was trying to rape her. Her mother then blames Lady instead of her boyfriend and this when Lady's hell really begins. At times I had to keep reminding myself that indeed this was a fiction read because I am from Queens and I felt I was in some of the places the author talks about. Queens definitly was represented and put on the map in this book. I even remember the Q club. This book was straight up off the chain or as the character Lady used to say "This novel was straight up sick." Pick up your copy today.

Oh What A Night!!!

From the beginning you are brought into the world of Tina -aka- Lady, The Cream Team's first lady...much to the demise of the team leader, Cream. Sex, murder and dirty cops run rampant in this tale of a young girls struggle to make it on top after the rape of another of her mother's boyfriends. Lady seemingly goes from living the life of working at a donut shop under the tracks, living out of three school lockers and riding the train all night to hot cars, celebrity status and more money than her sixteen year old mind can handle. It isn't until one of the Hunny Bunnies are murdered, and she too watches first hand the murder of several of the Cream Team members, and afterwards herself having to pull the trigger that she realizes that the glamorous life she proclaims to live maybe just not as glam as she thought. Cream, the bi-polar, often insecure leader of the team has the manerisms of a Dr. Jeckle/Mr.Hide type person. At one point he is relaxed and calm then the next thing you know he's kicking your ribs in and threatening to scold you with hot fish grease. His jealousy of Lady's rise to power knocks him off his square just long enough to put her back in check. The story was a quick read, although I ran across a few situations that made me question the authors motivation. (1) I hated her mother from the beginning. How can you tell your own flesh and blood, the person you gave birth too that they should have laid down and enjoyed being violated as apposed to fighting back? I was instantly ready to fight her after that. (2) Although the story is an excellent read I believe it would have been more "realistic" (for lack of a better term) if the main character, Lady, were a little older. I found it hard to believe that at the tender age of sixteen she was able to incorporate and later blossom nine car washes, a party planning business, run several whore houses and offer insight to a grown man that had been in the business way before she came along all while attending high school and maintaining good grades and attendance. The average sixteen year old, and even the not so average is still into boys, tight jeans, and getting their nails done. Not to say that a sixteen year old can't run a business, but too that extent it seemed a little far fetched and I think would have transitioned over better had she been like 19-20 and struggling to finish college. Over all, the book was off the chain and definitely kept you wanting to read more. This is one of the better books form this author with Paper Chasers being a total flop, and him stepping the game way up with Dogism. I look forward to seeing more works from Mark Anthony, and well wishes at keeping the good books coming.

Once again!

Mark Anthony delivers! Ladies Night was a great book. Mark does a great job of creating real characters and real situations. Read this and you will feel the characters pain and feel her joy also! Lady's Night is definitely a must-read!!

All "Ladies" Pay Attention!

"Lady's Night" by Mark Anthony is guaranteed to take you by surprise, as you read the testimony of an inexperienced young teen-girl (14), named Tina, forced to immediately grow up over night. Growing up in a disfunctional home, Tina can't take it anymore and runs away from home into the brutal streets of New York City. She struggles to live a life to keep a roof over her head and juggles her circumstances the best way her young mind knows how. In her attempt, Tina through her wittiness, fast mouth and acquired streets smarts meets Cream (her hero) and is thrown into a life-style she "thought" she would enjoy; only to find herself dancing with the devil. Finally, having her wish of a man to shelter her, she believes that her gifted beauty will shield her from the "common" squabbles of man-woman relationships. HA!! Despite Tina's connections in the world of heavy hitters, her life is hanging in the balances. Mark Anthony delivers a powerful message and startles the reader with Tina's ultimate decision for her life. This story should be on your "MUST READ LIST" and is most definitely a different read for those who love "street" stories.

A Tale from the Hood

I couldn't put the book down. This is a great tale from the hood. In the end I was thinking is this a true story. The characters and events seemed real. I wanted to learn more about the characters once I was finished reading the book. I was recommened this book by someone and I am most definitely recommended it to you all.
