Very exciting period book for girls interested in the thinking and issues of the 1770s in America. As always, American Girl does its homework. Plot is believable and settings are authentic. Gripping story that holds you from beginning to end!
Felicity wins

This is a nice little story for girls. It involves a mysterious heirloom, problems in the family, a horse race that has a mystery, and a young girl living with a cruel guardian. Felicity works hard in this story and solves the problems.
Another Felicity Mystery

Lady Margaret's Ghost is written by one of the best American Girl authors, Elizabeth Mcdavid Jones. While this book is interesting and I rated it five stars, I'm just a bit dissapointed. First, it wasn't written as well as the other mysteries. I found it easy to predict. It doesn't seem to connect at first; the first few chapters are about the heirlooms, then for a while that subject is dropped and the following chapters are about horses and races. I love horses so I found it enjoyable but I couldn't see how the ghost fit in. Later on things began to tie together more and you begin to see why so many new characters are introduced. All in all, this is a great story of Felicity, Williamsburg, horses, friendships and mystery, even though it was quite predictable. I recommend this book to complete your history mystery collection.
