Julia Navarro has written an epic novel that should be read by everyone because it is a lesson about

La sangre de los Inocentes in Three Parts The first part: starts in the XIIIth century, when the inquisition has surrounded a group of "Cátaros" (agnostic christian that did not recognize the Pope as any building to pray) at the Montségur fortress/mountain. The story is told by Fray Julián, a Dominican who was a scribe for the inquisition. His mother was inside the heretic castle and he had to watch for nine months the siege, then the actual burning of all those heretics, including his mother, under the orders of a very cruel head inquisitor, Fray Ferrer. Julian's mother requests that his son writes the accounts of the siege so that there will be a record of the Catholic Church's cruelty, which he does. Arrangements are made to save the tale at the count Bertran D'Amis' castle (a sympathizer) where, Fray Julián and his half brother have sheltered their half sister, Teresa. They also were able to save their treasures and hide them somewhere away from the Church The Chronic of Fray Julián reflected the story of a very sick man, who had to live the contradiction of being loyal to his family and his Church. He was a man of good, who hated violence, and who had to confront the fanaticism of the thirteenth century Catholic Church The second part: 1938, a respectable professor at The University of Paris, Ferdinand Arnaud, specialized in Medieval history is summoned by Étienne Marie de la Parisiere, XXII count d'Amis to authenticate the chronicles of Fray Julián. The count thinks that the chronicle can lead him to find the treasure of the "cátaros" which the count thinks may contain the Holy Grail. The count has allied himself with Nazi's because he wants desperately to liberate the region where they live by allying himself with Hitler when he invades France Arnaud translates and documents the chronicle but thinks the count is crazy to think that the Holy Grail exists. The count relies on studies done by a German, Otto Rahn who published "Crusades against the Holy Grail, The tragedy of Catars" Arnaud was help by a priest, Ignacio Aguirre. Aguirre meets the count and infiltrates in his castle, as part of his duties of Vatican espionage Arnaud's wife and son are Jewish. As things get nasty, he succeeds in sending his son David to Palestine, but tragedy strikes in Berlin. His wife, Miriam's relatives disappear after their store is bombed. Arnaud can't prevent Miriam from going to Berlin to search for her disappeared relatives. Miriam disappears also, and the poor professor spends most of WWII searching for her in Germany, to no avail. He is helped by Inge, a communist, who is untouchable because her parents are high ranking Nazis. At the end of WWII, we find out what has happened to all of the professors relatives. Along with the other six million innocent lives, they were gassed, tortured, and killed. Meanwhile David, the professors son befriends a young Palestinian, Hamza. They become friends and are excited because t
