Early Texas artist Louis Oscar (L.O.) Griffith (1875-1956)was a student and artistic collaborator of Frank Reaugh. His significant Texas oeuvre remained unknown to the museum world until recently, as he spent most of his working life in Indiana from 1922 until his death in 1956. This book accompanies an exhibition of the same title organized by and presented at the Tyler Museum of Art in Tyler Texas. Over 70 paintings of beautiful and majestic landscapes of Texas as well as some sketches are included in the publication. Essay contributed by Rebecca E. Lawton, Curator of Paintings and Sculpture, Amon Carter Museum of American Art, Ft. Worth.
