In 1992, Dutch comic artist Stefan de Groot drew the first comic strips for Kwab Hippo. So it's been 30 years since Kwab Hippo came to life. This book celebrates its 30th anniversary. It is an overview of the 12 comic albums that were released in the period from 1994 to 2014. Stefan de Groot tells the story of Kwab Hippo aka Horus Hippo with lots of visuals like sketches, newspaper articles, interviews, and drawings. De Groot started his career as a comic artist with Kwab.

Stefan de Groot is an illustrator, cartoonist, and multimedia artist. Nowadays he makes comics and cartoons for clients. He teaches drawing lessons on his YouTube channel Stayf Draws. Mainly in drawing on the iPad. The videos have been viewed more than 5 million times. He wrote several books about drawing in the drawing app Procreate. He also curates exhibitions for museums.
