Knitting Simple Jackets

I was impressed, and plan on making one or two of the patterns. I was particularly thrilled with the fact that it doesn't specify a particular yarn, but simply gives you the weight and the gauge. This is good for knitters whose cupboards are overflowing with a yarn stash. I wish all patterns did this.

Elegant Designs Made Simple

I love this book because the instructions and diagrams are so clear and easy to follow. The photographs are so close up that you can see the details front and back and see how the jacket will look when finished. The styles are basic and timeless and quite a few of the jackets can be knit very quickly with large needles. I especially love the classic Chanel style, the hooded jackets and the cape. I would also recommend Ms. Cohen's previous book, "Knitting Simple Sweaters From Luxurious Yarns."

A Gem For Knitters

Marilyn Cohen's second book gives us a delightful collection of simple and classic designs that will be stylish for years. The layout of the book was very user-friendly for those of us who are at the advanced beginner stage. The beautiful, multiple-view photographs make it difficult to decide which jacket to select first. (A wonderful "problem" to have.) I hope Ms Cohen is working on a third book as I enjoy the creativity and thoroughness of her work.

Simple and Easy and Beautiful

Marilyn Saitz Cohen's newest book is easy to follow with so many easy to make designs and a beautiful book to look at too! There are so many great designs to choose from and the yarn choice suggestions make using this book a snap. So many knitting books leave the beginning to intermediate knitter without any spohisticated choices, but this one has given us many to choose from. Thank you Marilyn! Susan Wayne

Knitting Simple Jackets

Another good knitting book for beginners to more experienced knitters. The classic and contemporary styles offered in Marilyn Cohen's new book offer simple shapes which are easy to knit, with lots of quick knits on large needles. The instructions and schematics are clear and concise. For each jacket, there are excellent photographs providing close-ups of details. The Chanel jacket has been a great wardrobe addition, appropriate for casual or dressier occasions. Her knitting patterns are building my skill and confidence as I continue to explore this craft. A good follow-up to her first book, Knitting Simple Sweaters from Luxurious Yarns.
