NEON AND BLOOD He'd been a good cop, but when his partner - and lover - went down in the hail of bullets he survived, Phil Duggan wanted out. Instead, they put him undercover on the NYPD's Special Crime Unit. Where he went now, he went alone. The city's night streets gleamed neon and blood, and were stalked by someone with a glistening blade. When the first woman was slashed to death, people yawned; she was only a hooker. When the second victim stained the sidewalks, Duggan took notice. These were his streets now, his people. Slowly, and always looking over his shoulder, Duggan follows a trail through New York's night world, the hustlers and pimps, petty thieves and street people. From the garishness of Times Square to a posh East Side townhouse, Duggan moves alone through his city, waiting for the killer to make a mistake, and for the sound of gunfire he knows will mean the end.

Kiss/Kill is a masterwork of its genre. Real characters, written with depth and sympathetic understanding, plus suspense, and even a bit of humor make this book one of those "can't put it down" reading experiences. I wish they were all this good!
the best of its genre I've ever read!

Kiss Kill, by Roy Sorrels, is the best mystery/suspense novel I've ever read, and I read dozens of them. The characters are fascinating, the suspense is nail-biting, edge-of-my-seat, can't-put-it-down great! Sorrels will be remembered after all the rest are forgotten!
