Great Book .... A few typos

I would just like to comment to you Connie. I believe Dales's book painted a more accurate picture of the Ringold church than your book. I knew the people from that church on a personal level and they were beautiful and wonderful people. I also knew Patty Jo and Rick. I completely understand that you would view the church the way you did because of your experience. However, I think you may owe them an apology. I also can see where Dale may owe you an apology. Everyone in this situation suffered a great loss. Patty Jo herself would not enjoy this banter.

Domestic Violence is never ok

The author did a great job of taking you behind closed doors of domestic violence. Domestic violence has become a hot topic in the past several years. This book will pull on your heart strings and make you wonder why someone as talented and gifted as Patty Jo Riddick Pulley was murdered for the reasons portrayed in the book. I recommend this as an excellent true crime book.

Excellent Book Highly Recommended

This book was very well written and was very disturbing. I read a lot of true crime and most of the time the victim is murdered by a stranger or maybe someone the family knew but wasn't a close relative. A Pastor, accepted and loved by the victim's family, her husband, was the murderer. In my opinion, the ultimate betrayal. Patty Jo was such a gifted person and had so much to give. Domestic Violence is very hard to read or hear about and we probably have no idea as to how widespread it is because, like Patty Jo, no one knew. Not even the people closest to her. Thanks Dale for another great true crime book.

Excellent Writing of a Typical Story

Once again we read a story about a preacher who has gone bad. The author did a great job with this story. For whatever his reasons, Rick Pulley started out with pure motives, but ran amuck somewhere along the way. After years of lying, stealing money from the church, and cheating on his wife, he finally decided murder was the only alternative he had left. Pulley would have gotten away with murder had it not been that an engineer accidnetally found his wife's body. Now he has the rest of his life to think about what he has done. This is an excellent rendering of a surreal case of spousal abuse that ends in the death of Patty Jo Pulley. I throughly enjoyed the book and, unlike the first reviewer, I read every word of it. 5 Stars!!!
