Excellent Overview

Gives an good middle-detailed historical account of the major historical figures & Kingdoms from Ancient times till present. Probably better on medieval times & modern than it is on ancients maybe because there is so much stuff out there on the ancient era. I've read it primarily to fill out my knowledge of 17-19th century France & Spain. If you collect European coins this book is a must. Still it can be a little simplistic as if the book was directed towards high school students although it definately is a league apart from one of those sub-standard poor quality student textbooks.
