An Excellent Commentary

I just got this in the mail three days ago, and it's great. One of the very first passages of the Bible that I looked up in this was Zechariah 6:1-8, his vision of the four chariots, since that was a difficult passage of scripture for me to understand the meaning of. Well, the commentary really dissected that passage nicely, explaining each verse and then providing what the authors felt (based on their own studies and research) what they felt the meaning was. I came away convinced that they were right, and they did not disappoint: the commentary was straightforward and thorough. One thing I discovered about this commentary is that it is a conservative commentary, and by that I mean they believe that the Bible is infalliable, they cross-reference the Bible as much as possible in order to say that it supports itself and that there are no contradictions, and the commentators obviously feel that what the Bible says is what it means, save for, of course, visions and dreams and stuff which obviously must be interpreted. I personally appreciate this. I bought this commentary when, in a sermon by Dr. D. James Kennedy, he asked radio listeners if they were truly reading the Bible every day and studying it, and if they were using a commentary. Well, since he exclusively uses a King James Version Bible for his sermons, I went hunting for a KJV commentary. This commentary is good. The spine is thin and weak, but the content is excellent. And for $13.00+ for such good study material, it's difficult to complain.

This is my first modern Bible commentary I use. I know Mr. Ed Hindson and I think this work also a very practical, useful and inspirational one. If you have not too much time to study biblical courses, then this one-book Commentary will be the best to gain a balanced an trustful knowledge the most wonderful book. And later you will buy much longer Bible commentarys...

King James Version Bible Commentary One of the MOST helpful commentaries I have ever used. Dr. Hindson is a brilliant Bible scholar and makes understanding the Bible much easier. If you have ever run across a puzzling verse in the Scriptures, this is the book for you!

If you are using the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, this commentary is an essential companion for your serious study. This work is very practical and doctrinal. It was written by the top evangelical scholars. It will provide you a complete, authoritative explanation of the meaning of each verse (most of the time) of the Bible, and the Bible as a whole. I highly recommend this book to everyone who want to expand their knowledge concerning the bible. I believe this book is one of the best single volume commentaries that you can find in the market. However, there are two drawbacks that I want to mention. The first one is result from it's limited spaces and variations in authors' styles. These things make the book containning some inconsistencies in digging deep into each verse, frequently some verses are omitted or not fully explained.A lot of chapters are excellent e.g. Genesis, Galatians, Hebrew to name a few. Some chapters are rather short and lack of essential details e.g. James. The second one is that the quality of the papers used in this edition is rather poor. But overall I am very satisfied with it and highly recommend to you all.
