I agree with the last reviewer, it is a good book, I particularly enjoyed the way the author describe their wedding. The only problem that have with this book is that it needs to be updated, particularly since the Queen Mother died 50 years and four months after her husband; as well as three months after her youngest daughter's death.
King George VI and Queen Elizabeth
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 19 years ago
This is a good book, nothing new or exciting, nothing scandalous, no deep dark secrets, just the story of a couple who loved each other a great deal. Unlike so many other books it focuses on both the King and Queen and shows their relationship as much as possible. Since George VI died such a long time ago, most people are only familiar with the Queen Mum, and so her story gets told with her husband as a sideline. This time we get both stories together and are able to see what shaped the lives of Englands war time king and queen, how she and her husband were able to be of help to Britian at a time of great need and what the cost was to the King.
