Kimi Shiruya - Dost Thou Know? (Yaoi)

Katsuomi Hanamori and Tsurugi Yaegashi are rivals in kendo, the Japanese sport of swordsmanship. Their competitive egos and contracting fighting styles clash, and yet Katsuomi gradually finds himself attracted to the graceful and keen Tsurugi. At first, Katsuomi hesitated pursuing his desire, fearing that his feelings may blunt his kendo skills against Tsurugi in competition. Its shounen-ai not Yaoi.

First of all this book, its not a Yaoi story more like shounen-ai kind. If you like Samurai kind of stories. I think you'll like this I for one love it cause I like Samurai (kendo) (Martial arts) (Swords) kindof Stories lol. The drawings were Ok not great but ok. Its a worth Buying to add for you Yaoi needz.

worth reading

this is another one of those yaoi that is less standard fare and thus won't appeal to everyone. it's about two sets of brothers, with more attention paid to the older two who are rivals in kendo. their interactions are believable and for the most part interesting. at times you want them to just put aside their competition, but for the most part the central conflict, that they are both competitive and can't stand to lose a match, is well done although it could have been expanded a bit more. there are some gaps in the narrative, but the artwork is good and overall this is worth picking up.

lovely story, bit too compact for one book

A wonderful stand alone. I think I loved it so much, because it reminded me of Kizuna (probably my favorite yaoi manga, along with fake and yellow) with the kendo parts. I loved the action in those scenes. For the other aspects of the story, I felt the mangaka did not feel the need to elaborate too much on the development of the plot between the characters. The ending was lovely, though. Would have loved to see this story more in depth, drawn out over a couple of issues with some great plotting.

a budding romance

This story originally reminded me of Kizuna due to the sport the men play, Kendo, and the similar love triangle. However, it doesn't contain as much fire as Kizuna does. Still, I enjoyed the role the cute brother of Tsurugi played. He's so innocent and yet he realizes his feeling for Katsuomi before his big brother does.

A tasty shounen-ai.

Another shounen-ai announced as Yaoi. Don't they know the difference? Reading the first few pages, brings to mind my favorite Yaoi series, Kizuna. Because it has kendo but that is the only similarity. Nothing explicit except for some hugging, kissing and an almost but not there...scenes. However the story for a stand alone is great. I enjoy the characters of the two pairs of brothers, so much so that I feel somewhat frustrated the artist/writer was not able to express their emotions for one another better. And the translation of certain pages seems incomplete. Still, I am glad to add this shounen-ai to my collection.
