Hope for those with Eating Disorders.

Personally, I thought Kim:Empty Inside was an amazing story of the struggles of a young girl with Eating Disorders. I myself, having been bulimic, recommend this book to all who are in need of hope and inspiration. I love it! 5 stars!

The Diary of an Anonymous Teenager

This book is about a girl named Kim who has an eating disorder. She keeps trying to stop but it seems as though it won't leave her. When things aren't going her way she eats then she purges (upchucks). She is in Gymnastics and feels as though she isn't as thin as the other girls. Her two best friends are Melanie and Cam. She has twin sisters, Dara and Lara.Kim is a college freshman at UCLA and lives in a Sorority house. She has had a hard time adapting to all of her sorority sisters. She does not like it there so she eats junk out of the snack machine, feels really bad because she thinks she will get fat overnight so she purges. She thinks that she needs to loose fifteen pounds. She does not tell anyone about her problem, because she is too ashamed of herself. One day while walking out of Gymnastics she faints because she hasn't kept food in her stomach for four days and she weighs 74 pounds and is 19 years old. The school sends her to the hospital and the doctors find out that she has an eating disorder and puts her on a feeding tube. Once she gets out she weighs 103 and says she has rolls. So she starts taking Laxatives. Will she ever get over this problem or will it always be with her? Read the book to find out! This book is excellent! Thats why I gave it 5 stars! I like this book because Kim is an ordinary girl and her story could be any other girls story. Kim seems just like most girls (with the exception of the eating disorder). The setting is where the story takes place and the setting of this book is in Arizona during the summer! People who like to read biographies or books about eating disorders. This book is a very good book. It is definitely a book for the girls! Girls you should read it!

Girl With a Tragic Problem

The book Kim Empty Inside is A Diary of an Anonymous Teenager. This teenager is going away to college as a freshman. When she can't handle things than she eats. After she eats she purges. She thinks that she is not as thin as the other girls on the gymnastics team are and she is worried about going away from home for the first time. Eating is the one thing that she can control but sometimes she wonders weather or not she can actually control that or not. This story is a great story and I think that everyone should read this book and learn that you don't have to be as little as everyone else. Characterization is most represented in my book because she is that she is trying to be as thin as everyone else on the team and the only thing that she can control is eating and then after she eats she purges. If you like books that are Realistic Fiction than I would recommend this book to you.

The girl with a struggle

This book is an awesome book about eating disorders. The book Kim Empty inside by the diary of an anonymous teenager is a true telling of life and how girls or guys really are about weight. This girl is a typical teenage girl fixing to go to college on a gymnastics scholorship and she is thrilled. She is healthy and she is smart but she says that she relys on food. She says food is her friend. But then she goes to gymnastics and sees all of these beautiful bodies and she looks at her own and sees a blob. So she starts a diet of her own by not eating anything or just purging it up. She is so conscience about herself that she doesn't care about food anymore and she just looses her strength and she can't go on. But I can't tell you if she gets better or if she gets worse. This book has a lot of suspense in it because you don't know what she is going to do next. I would recomend this book to any girl or guy out there who is worried about what they look like than about what is inside because it will teach you a lesson about if you want to do this or not.

Great

This book stood out to me. I knew it wasn't just another book that lumps all girls with eating disorders into a cookie-cutter image. It was really good! It made me cry! After I finished it, lots of my friends asked to borrow it and they all loved it. I identified with a lot of Kim's problems, especially the self-esteem ones. This is a great book.
