This is the second(ish) book it The Electromatic Mystery series. You don't REALLY need to read them in order (a couple of vague easter-egg references is all you'll miss) due to the fact that Raymond is a robot with a very limited memory; 24 hours to be exact. That's all the magnetic tape recording in his chest has time for, then-- A new tape, a new day! An excellent mystery populated by fantastic character darkly witty humor, spies, murder, Hollywood weirdos, and of course the last "living" robot on Earth & Private Eye (and secretly; hired assassin) Raymond Electromatic. It's 1960s Robot Noir set in one of the weirdest & wildest places of the time— HOLLYWOOD! Need I say more?!?! This second (full) novel in the series is a delight. I highly recommend this book and the previous book in the series 'MADE TO KILL'.
