'Killer Cocktail' bubbles like champagne...

Advice Columnist Molly Forrester is way overdue for a vacation from her job at Manhattan glossy, Zeitgeist, as well as her confusing life and romantic relationship with NYPD homicide detective Kyle Edwards. So when the opportunity arises for her to head to Southampton with her two best friends - Cassady and Tricia - for a weekend of fun to celebrate Tricia's brother's engagement, she can't pass up the chance to getaway from it all. But Molly's plans of a little rest and relaxation are quickly dashed when, instead of finding a nice pitcher of margaritas by the pool, she discovers that the bride-to-be - Lisbet - has been found dead - poolside - and the biggest suspect in the case is none other than Tricia's brother - David. Given that the fight that took place between the two lovebirds just hours before the brides murder, it is thought to be a crime of passion. But Molly thinks otherwise. Now, the amateur sleuth must head back to the Big Apple, where she plans on following a trail of lies, sex, and streaming video of the bride-to-be before her grisly death, and figure out who the true murderer is, before David ends up behind bars. The only problem is that her boyfriend, Kyle Edwards, keeps getting way too involved in the case, and taking Molly's mind off of the clues she's already found. The other problem being that she's receiving threats that could leave her in the same position as Lisbet - dead. Sheryl J. Anderson has done it again - woven a creative, hip, fun sequel to KILLER HEELS that is sure to please the amateur sleuth, SEX AND THE CITY crowd, and keep them coming back for more. As always, Anderson has blended the witty, different as night and day personalities of Molly and her two pals, Tricia and Cassady, to create a unique cast of characters who are easy to identify with, and enjoy from page to page. Sprinkled with fashion commentary on each page will keep the fashionistas happy, while the developing relationship between Molly and her on-the-rocks status with Kyle will bring a smile to the lips of romance readers. KILLER COCKTAIL bubbles like champagne, and will keep readers on edge waiting for the next installment into Molly's hectic - fashion-filled - life. Molly Forrester strikes again

Awsome sequal to Killer Heels. Molly is one of my most favorite characters ever!!!

Another Great Comic Mystery!

I'm a big fan of KILLER HEELS and I liked KILLER COCKTAIL even more. The mystery kept me guessing right up to the last minute, I loved the characters the girls met in the Hamptons, and it was great seeing Molly and Kyle trying to work on their relationship in the middle of an investigation. And again, it's Molly's wonderful friendship with Tricia and Cassady (and all their witty discussions) that's the most enjoyable part of the book. This is a terrific series.

A Great follow up!

After reading Killer Heels, I went out and bought this one. What a great follow up. Still the same witty characters, depending on each other to get through the hard times, celebrate the good times, and oh yeah, solve the murder. I love this series. It's a fast fun read, a little romance, a little murder, and a lot of friendship. We should all be so lucky in our real lives. For entertaiment value it's much better than a movie or TV. I highly recommend it to all.

fun chick lit amateur sleuth tale

Molly Forrester has mixed feelings about her recently solving the murder of her boss (see KILLER HEELS) because she believes that should have been her meal ticket to real journalism. However, resolving the case failed to get her from under writing the Zeitgeist magazine advice column, but on the other hand besides proving her capabilities she met NYPD Detective Kyle Edwards, the hunk who saved her life. She wonders if she just suffers from hero worship as opposed to love as her brain seems to consist of one icon Kyle. One of her best friends, event planner Trish Vincent pleads with Molly to learn who killed her brother's fiancée, wannabe actress Lisbet McCandless at their engagement party. Apparently someone smashed Lisbett's head with a champagne bottle at the Hamptons home of Trish's aunt. Feeling this will keep her mind off of obsessing over Kyle and enable her to play hard to get when he calls, Molly makes inquiries by interviewing those who attended the gala. Her efforts result in someone trying to kill her with Kyle as the only reason she remains alive. Though difficult to accept that Trish would ask Molly to investigate an open homicide and that the reporter agreed to do so after her harrowing experience, fans will enjoy this chick lit amateur sleuth tale. The story line is a lighthearted romp as Molly gets into trouble with a Southampton police hunk, her fantasy male Kyle, and a killer. Readers who enjoy a breezy late summer read will appreciate the zany antics of Molly on Long Island. Harriet Klausner
