Awesome Book

I thought this book was a good description of hard times of a teenage girl who lives in the ghetto. Keysha struggles through school, has home issues, and boy trouble too. All she can do what more? She's also a signature away from a foster home. All do to her mother not taking care of her responsibilities. Keysha is eventually going to move in with her father. This book can help anybody with personal problems. Keysha may fall between the cracks. Read and find out more. This book would be best for teenage girls.

good for reluctant readers

I teach two high school classes of students who struggle with English. They do not like to read. However, I now have 5 students passing this series of books to each other and reading for hours at a time. This book is well written. However, some of the books in the series contain writing errors that I am trying to break in my students -- mainly sentence fragments. I have used this as a tool and ask the students to rewrite selected fragments as whole sentence rather than remove popular books from the classroom. The books have a good moral message and address issues that my students face on a daily basis without glamorizing poor life choices. This book left me hanging at the end. I really want to know how the story continues. I hope I can find a sequel because I know my students will want to keep reading as much as I do!

Awesome Read!

Mr. Sewell is a BRILLIANT writer. This story is very well written and you can relate to it. This 16-year old girl who has been dealt the bad cards in life is going through and looking for love but along the way people, events and situations will get you caught up if you decide to be a follower. Very important message to teens in this book. I enjoyed reading every page. Can't wait for Part II!

Jorji's Review

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Keysha's Drama. The storyline fits so many teens of today. The outcome is very positive. We need more books that let our teens know there are choices and they can make the good ones. The bonding between the father and daughter show a lot of hope for improving not only the teen's quality of life, but for the adult as well. I would strongly recommend this book to our young teens, as well as adults. Thanks, Earl. This was a much needed present day book.

Keysha's Drama

This is a story about a 16 year old teen who has gone through so much drama that most folks could never even dream of dealing with in a lifetime let alone at this age. Despite everything, she prevails even when she had doubts that she would. Her Mom treats her more like a girlfriend than a daughter and her grandmother is no better. She comes from a family of users who only want to use her in all their schemes. This story may have been meant for teens but adults can learn from the message this book gives. I did! Great book Earl!
