Superb compilation of parenting tips, techniques, and wisdom

An extremely practical book addressing the topic of parenting. Obviously written from years of experience as well as a thorough understanding of a variety of theoretical approaches from which he offers pragmatic suggestions. The author has compiled a plethora of parenting techniques into one book and provides a sociological overlay to assist the reader in understanding how societal influences impact the parenting process as well as the family system. Dr. Jordan's book is destined to become the standard among parenting books and is a must read for parents, counselors, teachers, and behavioralists.

Good, practical and reminded me of what is important in life

I enjoyed this book, it was clear, easy to read and I found many great nuggets of wisdom in this book for parents like myself. It reminded me of what is important and how to get back to those important things with my kids. I like how the chapters are set up so if you are dealing with a specific thing in your family or life, you can just check out that chapter. I recommend it to most families I know today who are "flying by the seat of their pants"!
