A great cookbook from a non experienced cook

I have been using this cookbook for 15 years and have to say, some of our favorite recipes are from it. I have been looking for a new copy since mine is so worn out. The recipes are delicious and easy. Who is this Marian Burros? My favorites are the chicken marsala with everything that goes with it, and the orange chicken. We make the kasha pilaf with rice and it is delicious! I agree, a new printing of the book would be nice!

Simply the Best

I found this book at a used book shop and what a lucky day that was. It's quite simply one of the best cookbooks I own. The recipes are easy, healthy, and appealing. The book is very well organized and offers complete menus by season, by main dish. It even has "special event" menus. The style is easy and friendly. Ms. Burros teaches about eating healthy without a heavy-handed, preachy tone. Plus, the recipes she offers for creating your own "made from scratch" mixes are worth the price of the book. If you can find it, buy it!

A wonderful book for beginner cooks and those w/experience

I've been using this book for more than 20 years, and it has just about worn out. I need another one for the next 20 years.The recipes are quick, easy, delicious, and use fresh, and healthy ingredients.

favorite cookbook

This has become my favorite cookbook by a wide margin. I've had it for years and was looking to buy it to give as a gift. Too bad it is out of print. They need to run another printing.

the best simple cook book ever.

my mom bought all four of us girls this cook book and we all love it. recently she moved and accidently left this book behind in a cupboard. It is my hope i can find her a new one pam kemp
