The author...

of this book is one of the greatest authors ever for unauthorized biographies of super models who used to be famous. I read the book, it was very informative, I liked it.

A Fashionable Life

'Kate Moss: Model of Imperfection' is a serious study of life on the catwalk. Katherine Kendall accurately portrays Ms Moss as an intelligent, discerning woman who refused to be seduced by the bright lights and big names surrounding her. I can verify Kendall's assessment because I have known Kate for many years. I can also confirm the truth of the story Kendall recounts about Mick Jagger that epitomizes the super model's rejection of ostentation in her search for significant relationships. As Kendall writes on page 97: `Jagger was besotted by Kate; head over heels, hips over lips. In an attempt to woo and win her, Mick sent flowers and jewellery every day. Kate maintained a dignified silence so the love-sick Mick then kicked into high gear and bought her two houses, Yves Saint Laurent and Dior. By now, Kate was becoming cautiously interested, not because of Jagger's unbidden largesse but by his undeniable devotion. Needing wise counsel, she visited her good friend, Schwarz, at his gym and unburdened herself. `I like him,' she said, `but I need stability in a relationship. Mick's never around. He's always on the move, touring here, performing there. And when he's not performing, he's away in the studio. Schwarz, what should I do?' Pressing her above his head for the sixth time, the great man said, `Kate, I've just had an epiphany. Then again, it could be a hernia. It doesn't matter. You have to dump the bum because the truth is a Rolling Stone gathers no Moss.' It was a beautiful moment of clarity and the two friends wept for an hour.' Readers will get a great deal of satisfaction from this book.

Happy 31st Birthday Kate Moss

Every year my friends and I make a special day out of January 16 to celebrate the birthday of our fashion idol Kate Moss. This year we bought fourteen copies of MODEL OF IMPERFECTION and distributed them among ourselves during our fun-filled bash. In the days that followed our Moss party I heard many grumblings about how badly the book was written, but I paid them no mind, ascribing the bad reviews to the general hangover of our group. Also we've been worried about Kate Moss and her growing attachment to the Libertines' Pete Doherty, whose fascination with crack has emperiled our heroine and her beloved baby by Jefferson Hack. Katherine Kendall's book doesn't find the space to cover these latest debelopments, but with a figure so stylish and dynamic as Kate Moss, it would be hard to write a book that could keep itself up-to-date--maybe regular CD-ROM supplements would do the trick? I liked the way she wrote about Kate Moss posing for Lucien Freud, it shows that she has a brain too, not just an appetite for sensation as a result of being brought up in a overly restictive family that would not allow her sweets. Kate Moss has had to battle a lot of problems, including the bad press engendered by her rampages through hotels during the Johnny Depp days, and people feeling that she has no talent, and the rumors about bulimia and anorexia, and yet every time she gets written off, she bounces right back looking prettier than ever! In our crowd, we consider her the Babe Paley of the 21st Century, than which there is no higher compliment. And her little daughter, Lila Grace, is so cute. There are some good snaps of her in the Kendall book. Yes, the book is filled with re-cycled interviews and other sources, but it isn't all that bad. Perhaps next Katherine Kendall could write a book about the British actress slash comedienne Kay Kendall, whg was Kate Moss' spiritual ancestor back in the 1950s. Trivia--did you know that Kate has appeared in ten films--always as "Herself"? What other star can boast such a high ratio of appearances as herself?
