Drama with a punch

Kare Kano is a Japanese high school drama that my girlfriend got me into. As a guy I am embarrassed to say that I like it. I am, however, hooked and I will own the whole series before the year is out.

All About the Play

I did enjoy this volume, but I did dislike how most of the plot in this volume was the characters planning on a play for a Culture Festival. It's quite boring to have to sit and look through the characters talking about a play, but it's also quite nice. There is also a side plot that makes things a little more interesting. In fact, there's two. Arima is starting to get bad thoughts from his past, and a new student named Tonami comes back after three years and wants revenge from someone.. If things keep going the way they are with just planning on the play for the next volume and not starting, I think I'm going to get bored or just go along with it. I did get interested with the Tonami plot because I really want to see what happens. In fact, Tonami and the girl he wants revenge are seems to be inlove, too. They even had their first kiss together. Very interesting. This was a great volume, and I'll continue the series with the eighth volume, ninth volume, and perhaps the rest of the series.

Masami Tsuda has great stories and her Kare Kano series brings me back to my youth and reminds me of what it was like when I was younger I really enjoy her artwork, too!
