A very wise investment to help you decide on an important lifetime career in Karate.

This is a great NEW book. It is well presented, attractive, has lots of very good pictures of stances, kicks, blocks & punches etc. It won't teach you anything about karate, but what it will do is dispel any myths or misconceptions you may have about it. The book says that it's designed for the Shotokan enthusiast & goes on to say that Shotokan is the best style to keep children fit, motivated & on the right track, however the book shows one kata/form which is from the Goju Ryu style. The best parts of the which I have not found fully described in others of this kind are the chapters on "Diet for Karate" & "Choosing the Right Club" - this really is important as there are so many karate clubs around now that don't have adequate training, supervision or qualifications. It's not designed to teach you anything about actual karate and so is designed for non-karateka, but if you think you fancy taking up a martial art, and karate IS one of the best budo forms, then once you've read it, you'll understand exactly what's involved & expected from you. The layout of text & pictures is very attractive, modern and inviting.
