For the thousands of prospective teachers who will take the PRAXIS (Professional Assessments for Beginning Teachers) this year, Kaplan offers a guide to mastering this difficult exam. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I found this book fairly useful. I liked that it had subject tests for me to practice with. While it certainly isn't comprehensive it gets you in the right mind-set. The PLT section is also very useful. I found this to be a useful review before I took these exams. I also printed off the materials that PRAXIS gives and together I thought these were enough. One thing though if you need in depth review of your subject assessment, this will not be enough. This is just for someone who needs their brain reawakened to all the stuff they haven't used in awhile but still understand pretty readily. If you feel like you are starting from scratch on any of the tests, get a more comprehensive testing guide.

I bought this book after trying to study for the PPST using Barron's Study Guide for PRAXIS (4th edition). The Kaplan book is far better than Barron's-it's like night and day! I'm taking the PPST tomorrow, and I feel confident that I'll do well. Kaplan's book also gives tips and tricks how to answer a question even when you don't know the answer, and they also clue you in to any "traps" the PPST is known for. I highly reccomend this book!
