Great way to improve vocab score if you haven't much time

The idea of a flash card-type book is simple, but I just loved the idea of folding over the pages that I had already mastered. Seeing the progress I made with all the folded-over pages really gave me the motivation to keep studying. I know it sounds stupid, but considering how much I was dreading having to memorize words, it really worked! By the night before the exam, I had all the pages folded over. Obviously, this isn't a comprehensive list of GRE words, but it's a great list to cram if you just have a week or two to study. I'd supplement this book with the list of 3,500 words from the Barron's study guide if you had more time. I even made my own flip-books from this list, and learned about 500 more words. Thanks Kaplan for a great idea!

Outstanding tool for getting you started learning GRE Vocabulary

If you are going to do well on the verbal, you need to study vocab. This is a great tool to keep you disciplined and get you started. It is worth the investment. I made up my own mnemonic devices for each word that I didn't know and wrote them down under the meaning and was able to learn a lot of words quickly. Still, memorizing the words from this book does not guarantee you a perfect score on the vocab questions. I'm told you need to study other word lists on the internet to get in the 700's or you have to be very smart.

Easy Way to Remember Vocabularies

I have not taken the GRE test yet, but I can tell that the flip-book will help me in the future. It has a broad list of vocabularies. Sure, there are refresher words from the days of SAT in this list, but I have learned quite a few new ones as well. The book is well organized, and certainly combines with my studies in other GRE books, mainly Kaplan and Barron's. I think one has to buy different books and at least one flashcard to be well prepared for the test, I would recommend getting this set of flashcards.

good review of words commonly found on the GRE

This book really helped me brush up on the GRE's favorite vocab words. Plus the flashcards are bound so I didn't have to worry about losing any of them. Together with the Kaplan GRE Exam 2005 Edition, I felt that I was prepared for the exam and did score well on the verbal section.

study to go-go

I found this book extremely helpful. Flashcards are boring, but this flip book perked up my GRE study. I used it as a supplement to my regular test-prep study sessions by using it on my commute. I liked the small size, and on the subway, I found this format easier to handle than traditional flashcards. and, I definitely super-sized my vocabulary!
