Kevin Kallaugher's latest book is a collection of clever cartoons from the 21st century. Beginning with the 2000 election and continuing right up to 2006, this book presents a selection of Kal's editorial cartoons from the Economist magazine and Baltimore Sun newspaper. Kal is right on the mark as he parodies his subjects' foibles, missteps and pigheaded ways. Some of his post 9/11 criticisms are amazingly prescient in late 2001. While the mainstream media was unquestioning of the governments motives and methods, Kal points to the overstepping of government and questionable rationale for going to war. He is equally good at poking fun at steroids in sports and high oil prices. I suspect this is a collection that will age quite well.
