Throughout history our desires have evolved to fit the era we are in. In the beginning our desires were more simple, such as for, food, family. Once we began to obtain fullfillment from these desires then we begin to seek other desires to satisfy us, such as, being powerful, well known in the community, wealthy, etc. Then we began to need something else to satisfy our egos. We began to search for knowledge and wisdom so we could try to understand the world and our place in it. But again, we began to feel like there is still something else out there. We are still unhappy in our lives and as much as we have obtained of the previous desires we are still not content.
