Garrett Adams is a neuroscientist working on enhanced artificial thought when he and his team accidently discover a way to open a window into the future. However, his view of the future leaves him disillusioned and confused. "...for the first time, I began to question whether what we were doing was right. It's not a good thing to know too much about the future. I know that now. The question is, is it the future that must be or is it only the future that could be?" As a result he begins to wonder if he can affect the future by his choices or if the future has already been predetermined, and that nothing is in his control. With the help of his friends, he begins a journey that will have far reaching implications, not only for himself, but for his children and grandchildren. It is a journey through time that is fraught with intrigue and mystery, and some surprising and unexpected revelations.
