Engaged my New Reader

Many of the books for kids who come late to reading have themes that are too simple to engage these kids. My 7 year old loves pets, and connected with this story of a boy trying to find his dog. The pictures are engaging (another element that is important to my son as he is very visual - and an important feature for helping decode the words). The book is listed as "Just for You! Level 1" ( K-Grade 1 per the book jacket).
