I am using the adult version (The Solution) of this book for myself and I really like it so I thought it might help my children. Neither of my children is heavy, but they have poor eating habits and tend to eat out of boredom and uncomfortable emotions. I thought this book would be a great way to teach them about food, eating and taking care of themselves emotionally and I have pitched it that way. We have read the first section, but need to get started on the charts. We are reading the chapters and going through them as a family since my husband and I are a little soft in the belly. I have told my kids not to worry about saying anything negative about us parents as it is a personal feeling that we will respect and there is no arguing or defending oneself during this process ;) I think this is a great book for all children who need to learn about being active an taking care of themselves. Just make sure to preface it that you are not doing it because you think they are heavy. My daughter is a weed and I would hate for her to think that she needs to be smaller. But she does need to learn to chose an apple over a cookie! (Be aware, this book was modified from an adult version and they forgot to remove wine and beer from the junk food list. We thought is was funny, but if you are sensitive about that, look for the list in the first chapter and cross those words out.)
