Great for little vehicle lovers

My now 2 year old son was given this puzzle set (it's not a book as stated in the editorial review!) at the age of just under 23 months and adores it! He'd been really into the little wood puzzles with the cut out shapes at about 18 months, but has since grown bored with them. He's had one other cardboard puzzle with animals of 2 pieces each which he mastered very quickly, though still enjoys playing with. He caught on very quickly to this set with the dump truck (3 pieces) and the tractor (5 pieces), but I was a bit concerned that the fire truck (at 9 pretty complicated pieces) would be frustrating for him. However, after giving him hints the first few times, he chugged right along with it. Now I give him this to play with when I need to make a phone call, and the next thing I know, all three vehicles are done without him having needed any help at all - and it's usually enough to keep him busy until I'm done with the call. The pictures are the classic high quality photos one expects from DK. I don't know how long it'll be before he gets bored with the set, but it's definitely been just the thing to get him going on puzzles again after the wood puzzles got too easy. I suspect that given the subject matter (trucks, trucks, trucks), he'll still enjoy putting them together long after he's moved on to puzzles with more pieces. As a note to those who do a fair amount of traveling, the pieces pack pretty flat if you leave the box at home (we stick them in a ziplock) and the individual vehicles fit well on an airplane pull down table or lap desk. When he is at home and playing with the set, my son loves to put his pieces away into the box and then carry it around by the carry handle. Makes a great gift for busy hands in this age group!
