This is an excellent dictionary for anybody who doesn`t as yet read and write thai. Besides from tones and transliterations as already mentioned by the other reviews the author also adds an array of invaluable comments that provides indepth insight into thai culture.Having said that it doesn`t deserve 5 stars as there are a number of very common words that for some strange reasons are left out. Very annoying, instead the author gives great effort to mention all the grades within police force and army. In his transliteration he doesn`t separate between long and short vowels which is very unfortunate. When mentioning nouns he doesn`t mention the appropriate classifier/counter as well. That would be a nice feature. Because although there are rules for those they might as well be mentioned together with the noun.Michael Christoffersen

This dictionary is an excellent dictionary as far as it goes and in my copy there does not seem to be any missing pages. I would prefer the tones to be represented at the end of the word and have employed this in my language studio with students who seem to find this more comfortable. What a pity there is no JUMBO Thai-English dictionary. If anyone knows of a Thai-English dictionary with transcription of Thai characters into Latin letters I would love to know. Perhaps Jumbo does one?
