Beautiful tribute to a wonderful man

I read all of the Father Koesler mysteries and was shocked to read on the book jacket of his last book that William X. Kienzle had died. This book is a loving remembrance by Javan Kienzle of her husband as priest, author and friend. It is by turns funny and unbearably sad. This book confirms the impression I always had of William X. Kienzle when reading his mysteries - a good and decent man with a quirky sense of humor and a deep and enduring faith in God. Javan Kienzle did a great job of sharing her husband's spirit with her readers.

True Love

I knew Bill Kienzle the year he became a priest. He was the kindest person I knew. My father, the organist, suffered a heart attack and I had to take over at 16. The schedule was 5 masses each morning. Father took over the 7:15 after I played 6:30 so I could grab breakfast. When time was short, he made me fried egg sandwiches (with ketchup ugg!) and brought it to the organ loft. All priests should be allowed to marry.

Wonderful Book

Javan did an excellent job on the book, it must of been hard for her to write. Javan had me laughing and crying sometimes at the same time, but gave me a view of Bill that I never knew. I knew that he was a very kind and gentle man and was very easy to talk to. I just couldn't put the book down and only did so when I had to. I only wish I could of been able to go the memorial service. I have read all of Bill's books and had met both Javan and Bill when I lived in the Detroit area.Bill and I had some very in depth conversations the few times we had met at book signings. I was totally shocked when I had found out that Bill had passed away. I was always waiting for Good Friday to see what the next book was and always bought them.
