Comfort My people

This is a tiny little book that provides a large dose of comfort. In Isaiah 40:1, God says: Comfort, comfort My people...Speak tenderly..." God cares about the comfort of His people, in all the trials of life, and encourages us to give comfort to each other. This small whopper of a book comes alongside the one who is grieving and gives words of hope, comfort, and instruction. You get the feeling you are being soothed with a whisper instead of shouted at to pull it together and move on. Each short chapter begins with a profound quote. My favcrite is: "Grief is the price we pay for love." (C.M.Parkes) This says to me that my pain affirms how deeply I loved and was loved. There are many testimonials included in these pages, describing various phases, responses, and stages of grief. It is a practical, quotable, instructional (You get the feeling you are being tenderly coached along.)book that has the potential to minister to those who've lost someone dear to them. God has used it to comfort me in the death of my one and only dad. I highly recommend it.

Speaks to my need

Joy Comes in the Morning - Finding Comfort in Time of Loss This book speaks more to my need than anything I've read or been told since my husband or 54+ years died 2 months ago. I highly recommend it. The author seems to understand my heart and the pain of my loss, yet point me in the right direction.
